No train, bus or flight reaches Kainchi. Every journey ends at Kathgodam (rail), Pantnagar (air) or Haldwani (bus) — then about 38 km of road, 1.5–2 hours, via Bhowali.

Best months: March–June and September–November. July–September is monsoon and landslide season on the Haldwani–Bhowali road — travel with care.
